Water Meter Milestone

Meter Milestone

Hinton’s residential water meter installation project is making great progress and has reached 50% completion. Thank you to Neptune Technology Group for keeping the project moving.

Residents in all areas are receiving letters with instructions to book their installation appointments. Appointments are available weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Water meters are mandatory, and both the meter and installation are free during this project.

Starting Spring 2026, water usage will be billed by volume. Watch for weekly water‑saving tips to help you conserve water and reduce costs. Learn more at hinton.ca/engage.

Friendly Visitor Program

Connect Through Friendly Visits

Looking for ways to make new friends and spend time with others? Join the Friendly Visitor Program!

This program connects isolated individuals with caring volunteers who share similar interests. Volunteers spend one to two hours weekly visiting or making phone calls, supported by Hinton FCSS staff. Regular visits help boost hope, worth and connectedness.

The program seeks friendly, respectful, dependable volunteers and provides free training.

  • Training dates: Jan. 26 and Feb. 2, 6–7:30 p.m.
  • Volunteer and client meet-and-greet: Feb. 9, 6–7 p.m.
