Public Notice: Assessor Request for Information (ARFI)
The Municipal Assessor (Powers & Associates Appraisal Services Inc.) has emailed Assessor Request For Information (ARFI) forms to all non-residential property owners with an email address on file at the Town Office. If you have not received an email request, please contact the Town Office at 780-865-6016 with a current email address. ARFI forms will not be mailed via “snail-mail”.
This publication serves as a notice and a formal request to all non-residential property owners, tenants, agents, and any other interested party, that you are being requested to supply information pertinent to the calculation of your upcoming assessment by the Municipal Assessor under S.295 of the MGA.
The Assessor Request For Information date is: December 6, 2021. The ARFI forms must be returned to the Assessor within the legislated 60 days (+7 days for mailing, or no later than February 12, 2022).

Authorization for this request is made under Section 295 of the Municipal Government Act (MGA). Failure to comply with this request can result in a loss to appeal the subsequent assessment.

Paying your Property Taxes
Tax Payment Deadline
Taxes are due on or before June 30 of each calendar year.
Taxation Year
The taxation year is the calendar year, January 1 through December 31.

Online Banking
Your account number for your Town of Hinton property taxes is your roll number from your Assessment & Tax Notice. If your bank requires more digits than your roll number, you may need to put a 0 or 0’s in front of the first digit of your roll number.

The Town of Hinton is pleased to announce that we are now accepting payments with select credit cards through our OptionPay System.

School Support Declaration
In Hinton we have both a Public School District and Roman Catholic Separate School District. All individuals who own property located in the Town of Hinton are required to file a School Support Declaration Form when a property is acquired. An individual may file a notice at any subsequent time. Complete and sign the form by December 31st and return by email, mail or in person to the Town of Hinton Government Centre.
