Someone else was driving my vehicle at the time of a recorded offense. How come it came in my name?: You have not been charged as the driver of the vehicle – you have been charged as the Registered Owner. For this reason, demerit points are not attached to ATE tickets.

1. Where can I pay my ticket?: Violation tickets can be paid at any of the following:
- A court house of the jurisdiction under which the ticket was issued
- A registries office
- Money order or Cheque to the Provincial Court House indicated on the ticket.

3. Is it really necessary for the Peace Officer’s vehicles to be idling for hours on end at the side of the road?: Much of the year our operators do not idle their vehicles. Our systems operate on battery power, and in some cases this is supplemented with solar or wind power.

4. What about license plate covers or sprays? Will they fool your cameras?: Not with Global Traffic Group systems. License plate covers are engineered to block the view of a fixed camera’s standard angle of 22.5 degrees. Global Traffic Group cameras pan across an unlimited range of viewing angles, seeing right through covers, and often get an even better image as a result of them. Global Traffic Group’s equipment doesn’t use a flash, so other plate covers containing highly reflective particles and glossy sprays that are intended to overexpose the plate are ineffective.

6. Why is my stop sign ticket more than one issued from an RCMP officer?: A Police Officer may use discretion to use one of two traffic violations, depending on the situation; Failure to Stop, amounting to 388 dollars, and failing to obey a traffic control device, amounting to 233 dollars. ATE cannot make these discretionary decisions, and issues a ticket based on the exact infraction. A violator may, however, attend court and request that a Judge reduce the fine to the lower amount.

7. Can I Receive Multiple Stop Sign Tickets in One Day?: No one should receive 2 stop sign tickets in a 24 hour period. Anyone who do is encouraged to please contact the Protective Services Department.
