Get Involved in the Governance of Your Community!
The Town of Hinton Strategic Services Division is currently working on community engagement, following Council's direction, surrounding the Town Strategic Plan and 2020 Budget Cycle. To ensure we have the input of our stakeholders in recreation, seniors interests, and community members at large, we've built a variety of input methods to ensure that 24/7 anyone can share their thoughts and be represented in our governance. Please review the variety of methods listed below, and engage in whatever way is convenient to you.
Online Focus Group
From October 15 to November 8th, we will be hosting an online focus group at
Hinton.ca/ToHFocusGroup. The group, which is hosted in facebook via our page, features similar questions to those posed to our in person focus groups, encouraging dialogue from residents along the following topics:
- What's Going Well?
- What Could we do Better?
- What is your Vision for Hinton?
- What is your Dream of Hinton?
- What Should the Strategic Plan Include?
- What Should the Town Advocate for?
Citizen Budget Engagement Tool
We're excited to bring back our citizen budget engagement tool! This interactive education tool offers you a chance to input your individual home assessment value, and then interact with distinct budget lines, increasing or decreasing to see how your individual priorities impact your bottom line. The tool is live now, until November 12 -
find it here.
Town Hall
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this years Town Hall
on October 17, 2019, in the West Fraser Guild: Performing Arts Theatre of Hinton. The event included both a state of the community address from Mayor Michaels, and an extended opportunity to share for residents to share their thoughts and priorities with Council.
