Public Notice – Beaver Boardwalk Status

The Beaver Boardwalk is a community asset that is a highly valued recreational destination by both residents and tourists. This outdoor infrastructure, which was a grassroots initiative, provides the opportunity to experience our local wetland and get close to wildlife natural habitat.

In the time since West Fraser Mills Ltd. sponsored the construction in 2006 of this Beaver Boardwalk to commemorate the 50th anniversary of West Fraser's Hinton operation and the Town of Hinton, weather conditions, frequent use, and landscape changes have weathered and damaged portions of the boardwalk.

Following the Regular Council meeting of April 02, 2019, a number of areas have been closed off due to unsafe conditions. Please view the photos for further information, as well as the map provided for planning visits to the area.
