Athabasca Riverfront Park

Athabasca Riverfront Park

When does the park open?

Beginning June 27 the gates to the Athabasca Riverfront Park will be opened to the public! This pilot project park is located on the Town-owned land adjacent to the Athabasca River. We invite you to visit and enjoy the spectacular views along this world heritage river.

Bring a picnic, bring a frisbee and bring the family!

Where is the park located?

You may have heard about the riverfront park, but may not know how to get there!

The address is 600 West River Rd, which can be found by turning at the Switzer Drive jug handle onto Kelley Rd, and bearing left onto West River Rd. The park is located on the right.

What should I know before I go?

Hours of operation are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Picnic tables, garbage and washroom facilities are provided for your use.

Spending time being active outdoors is important to Hintonites, but equally important is having respect for the beautiful landscape that we have access to. With this in mind campfires, ATV use and alcohol are prohibited from the park. Please pick up after yourself and ensure that this area is left in great condition for others to enjoy.

Let us know about your experience!

Since the Athabasca Riverfront Park is a pilot project this year, we want to know about your experience. Please follow this survey link to share your thoughts on what worked and what we can improve.
