Looking for Event Support?

The Town of Hinton offers a wide range of support for Hinton events, with many services offered at no charge! Does your group have an event coming up they’d like support with? Read below to find out some of the options available.

Community Calendar

The award-winning Town of Hinton website offers a fully functioning calendar, which is also available through the Town of Hinton app! There’s no charge to submit your event to the calendar, and any resident can check the calendar, subscribe to the different calendar topics, and view the thousands of events listed on the calendar any time of day via hinton.ca/calendar.aspx

Volunteer Centre

Having trouble securing the volunteers you need to hold your event? The friendly staff at our Volunteer Centre can help! Lisa can help connect you with volunteers in the community, in addition to a wide range of other supports to help grow your non-profit like accessing the grant database, renting banners, and utilizing FCSS’ library of resources. The Volunteer Centre is half of Hinton Connects, which works to build the capacity of non-profits. Find out more on the Hinton Connects website, Hinton.ca/HintonConnects.

Event Coordinator

The Town of Hinton event coordinator is available to work with your non-profit to help book town owned equipment, facilities, and resources as needed. A wide array of equipment, tenting, staging, and more is available for rent on a first come first served basis; visit Hinton.ca/EventRentals to fill out the rental form. You can also contact events@hinton.ca to get more information on the supports available, and what steps to take to get started

Minute with Council/Delegations

Think Council should know about your event? Make sure they do by presenting, either as a delegation or during Minute with Council! Presenting to Council ensures they are aware of your event, and includes your event in the Council Recordings, which are hosted on our website. Any citizen can attend Town Council Meetings and stand up to speak during Minute with Council, sharing information with the elected officials. You can also register to be a delegation to council; this adds the benefit of your information being included in the agenda package and gives you more time to speak, or share a presentation. Find out how to be a delegation by visiting Hinton.ca/BeADelegation
