Weekly Water SmartsAcross Canada, the average water use is 223 litres (L) per person per day. In Alberta, the average use is 195 L per person per day, increasing to 293 L in summer. In Hinton, water use averages 640 L per person per day (including non-residential use)—almost three times the national average! In spring 2026, Hinton households will begin paying for the water they use as measured by newly installed water meters. If you choose to conserve water, you will pay less. So, watch for water conservation tips every week, to help reduce your utility bill. Learn more: www.hinton.ca/engage
