Find Your Fit - Lifejacket Day During NDPW is July 26

July 19, 2025

As part of National Drowning Prevention Week, the Town of Hinton invites you to take part in Boating Safety Day on July 26 at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre.

Wearing a properly fitted lifejacket is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the risk of drowning while boating. Yet, many Canadians continue to head out on the water without one. This event provides an opportunity to learn how to properly fit a personal flotation device and understand why this simple action is so crucial.

Participants who come in and find their best-fit lifejacket on July 26 will receive free entry to the pool. It’s a great way to combine fun and learning while reinforcing smart habits on the water.

Make safety a priority this summer—because one small step can make a big difference.
