National Drowning Prevention Week is Coming - July 20 to 26

Make a Splash for Safety This Summer
The Town of Hinton is joining communities across Canada for National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW), taking place from July 20 to 26. Led by the Lifesaving Society, this national campaign raises awareness about the preventable nature of drowning and promotes simple actions to stay safe in and around the water.
Each day will feature a WaterSmart safety theme and an activity at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre Pool.
New this year, there is also a Canoe 101 Safety Workshop on July 21 at Jarvis Lake — a full-day hands-on session open to all skill levels.
Let’s stay #SaferTogether this summer!
