Public Washroom Hours Adjusted at Gordon Moore Memorial Park

Effective immediately, the public washrooms located beside the Rotary Play & Spray Park at Gordon Moore Memorial Park will close one hour earlier each day, with new closing hours set at 8 p.m.

This change comes in response to repeated and consistent acts of vandalism. These incidents result in facility damage, safety concerns, and additional costs for repairs and cleanup — all of which impact service levels.

This park is a vibrant, family-friendly space, and we want to ensure it stays that way, so we're asking everyone to help take care of it. This means speaking with your kids and teens about respecting shared spaces and reporting vandalism if you see it happening. 

To further support community safety, the Town is currently expanding its closed-circuit television (CCTV) system. As part of a significant upgrade at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre, 44 new cameras will be installed in and around the facility, including coverage of outdoor areas such as:

• Rotary Play & Spray Park
• Skate Park
• Rear fire lane
• Parking lot

This system will also assist with RCMP investigations, help prevent incidents from escalating, and improve emergency response during serious events.
