Beaver Boardwalk Rehabilitation UpdateDecember 12, 2024 The Town of Hinton and the Beaver Boardwalk Community Oversight Committee (BBOC) are pleased to provide the community with a tentative schedule for upcoming rehabilitation work on the boardwalk. All construction within the wetland must be conducted under frozen conditions, so the timelines associated with this project are fluid and weather-dependent. Expect to see Robson Design Build, the construction contractor, on-site at Maxwell Lake as early as the last week of December to set up the staging area in the Beaver Boardwalk overflow parking lot on Collinge Road. If you want to get involved in rebuilding this local gem as a carpenter or skilled labourer, please contact Robson Design Build at info@robson.ca for more information. The anticipated start date for construction is January 6th, 2025, with construction lasting approximately 60-75 consecutive days, depending on weather conditions. Winter 2024/25November: Removal of submerged Phase I sections (UPDATE: Due to weather conditions, the removal of submerged Phase I sections will be rescheduled until spring) December/January: Decommission of non-submerged Phase I sections. February: Reconstruction of Phase I sections under frozen conditions. Winter 2025/26Rehabilitation of Phase II sections The Town of Hinton and BBOC again thank the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta for their generous contribution of $2.5M, which will ensure the completion of Phases I and II. Funding for Phase 3 is still pending. Once funding is secured, an update regarding the schedule for this work will be provided.
