Town of Hinton Celebrates
Canada Day

The Town of Hinton is excited to welcome everyone to a three-part celebration of Canada Day. The festivities will span two days, commencing with the Drone Show Spectacle at Gordon Moore Memorial Park on Sunday, June 30th, at 10:30 PM.
On July 1st, the celebration commences with a Pancake Breakfast from 8 AM to 11 AM at the Green Square. With a portion of the proceeds donated to a local charity, the cost of $6 per person, attendees can indulge in a delicious pancake breakfast to kick-start the day's festivities,
At 9:30 AM, the Canada Day Parade, undertaken by the Chamber of Commerce, will commence its route at the Mountainview School on MacLeod Ave. This vibrant parade showcases the community's spirit and creativity, offering a free event for all to enjoy. The Chamber of Commerce will announce further details about the parade, including the parade route and how best to see the action.
After the parade, celebrations will continue at Gordon Moore Memorial Park and begin at 11:00 a.m. with the welcome ceremony. The ceremony includes singing O'Canada, Land Acknowledgement, Blessing & Smudge, and Free Canada Day Cake.
On July 1st, Gordon Moore Memorial Park will offer an array of exciting activities for all ages. Free Youth Programming, including Face Painting, Balloon Artistry, Games, and access to the Spray Park, will be available from 11 AM to 5 PM.
During the day, the Main Stage will come alive with a line-up of incredible performers, and attendees can enjoy a range of musical performances certain to captivate and entertain.

A variety of Food Trucks will be available at the event, offering a delightful selection of culinary delights. Attendees can indulge in the flavours of Las Tres Marias, Big Bird BBQ, Funky Monkey, Inna's Ukrainian, and Pat’s Catering. Each vendor will determine food prices. Enjoy a day filled with laughter, music, and delicious food and beverages as we celebrate Canada. Raise a toast to Canada at the Beer Gardens, hosted by the Hinton Rotary Club, and cheers to the festive spirit from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
In addition, enjoy Free Canada Day Public Transit Services from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The Rec. Centre drop-off has been relocated to the west of Gordon Moore Memorial Park, near the Hinton Skate Park. Choose sustainability by biking to the event and securely locking your bike to the chain-link fences surrounding the park perimeter or at the available bike racks at Harry Collinge High School. Please avoid biking inside the festival grounds on July 1st to prioritize pedestrian safety.
In preparation for the event, we recommend dressing appropriately for the weather, including sunscreen, hats, and other necessary protection, or even a rain jacket or umbrella, as this event will proceed rain or shine. Remember to bring your lawn chair to view the Drone Show or the Main Stage.
