What is it?

The Council Remuneration Review Committee (CRRC) is a vital part of Hinton’s local governance, providing residents with a significant opportunity to influence the financial compensation framework for elected officials. This committee plays a critical role in setting the remuneration that will take effect in November 2025, with decisions impacting the community for four years following the next municipal election. By participating in the CRRC, residents contribute valuable community insights, helping ensure that remuneration reflects the values and expectations of Hinton's citizens. This involvement helps shape fair and transparent governance for the town. 

Each CRRC will serve until October 31, 2024, or until Council approves the remuneration for the next council term. Appointments will occur in July with the first meeting in September 2024. 

Who is it?

Five members from our municipality will be selected to sit on the committee. 

How to apply:

The application deadline for interested applicants is July 5, 2024. You may send your application to abourbeau@hinton.ca or submit it online at www.hinton.ca/917, or you can drop it off in person at the Government Centre, 131 Civic Centre Road.
