Hinton Emergency Coordination Centre Activated
May 5, 2023
The Town of Hinton has activated our Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) and we are actively monitoring the wildfire situation in our area.
There is currently no risk to our community, but the ECC is active and making preparations in case the situation changes.
Communities to the east of Hinton, including Edson, have been evacuated due to wildfire and have been directed to head west along Highway 16 through Hinton and Jasper.
A Reception Centre is being set up for evacuees at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre. Local residents should please avoid the area unless it is absolutely necessary.
