Hello Hinton Relaunched
January 9, 2022
Are you new to town?
Hello Hinton, a free service designed to connect new residents to community resources, has been relaunched by Family and Community Support Services (FCSS).
As part of the relaunch, Hello Hinton has a new component: an optional driving tour to help newcomers get their bearings and be visually introduced to some important local landmarks and resources. Hello Hinton has also been visually refreshed with a new logo and brochure featuring the Town’s official flower, the Castilleja, commonly known as Paintbrush, and a striking, coordinated colour scheme.
Hello Hinton gives newcomers the opportunity to learn more about our community’s social and human services programs, including schools, daycares, family programs, employment supports, health services, sports teams, non-profits, charities, and more. The program is led by FCSS Community Connections Coordinator Lisa Brett, a born and raised Hintonite with detailed knowledge of our community.
Let Lisa help you navigate your new home and give insight to local features. Lisa will be available by appointment for you to stop in, have a cup of coffee, ask questions, and receive a community directory and other useful information. Plus, she can now take you to see some local sights with the new optional driving tour.
“It is my absolute pleasure to help connect new members of our community with the resources they are looking for and show them all that our wonderful little mountain town has to offer,” said Lisa.
Hello Hinton services are available in-person at FCSS, West Fraser Guild, 821 Switzer Drive, on Mondays and Fridays from 8am to 4pm by appointment. Call 780-865-6036 or email volunteer@hinton.ca for more information or to book a timeslot.
