Citizens' Minute with Council

Residents are welcome to speak to Council about issues, events, celebrations or concerns during Minute with Council. At the beginning of each regular Council Meeting, Mayor Michaels opens the floor to the public to speak and share with Council members, administration and meeting observers.

Ms. Sharron McGettigan spoke to Council with regards to her concerns with the Town of Hinton's tax increase for 2023.

Delegations

Presentations are required to be arranged through the Executive Assistant so that presenters can be sure time is set aside for their presentations on the Council agenda. Find out more about how to be a delegation by following this link.

1. Revised Bylaw No 1124 Council Code of Conduct - MD-2802
Council gave First, Second, and Third Reading to Revised Bylaw No. 1124, Council Code of Conduct.

2. Rescinding Bylaw No. 1129 – Community Engagement & Advisory Committee
Council rescinded the Community Engagement and Advisory Committee Bylaw No. 1129.

3. Automated Traffic Enforcement
Council directed Administration to extend the existing agreement for a defined period of one (1) year, ending December 31, 2023, for 48 hours per week.

Council directed Administration to explore alternative options for automated traffic enforcement services for 2024.

4. Regular Council Meeting Cancellation, January 3, 2023
Council cancelled the Regular Council Meeting of January 3, 2023.

Mayor Michaels read the Proclamation for Alzheimer's Awareness Month for January 2023.

The floor is open at the beginning of the meeting to the public to share with Council members, Administration and meeting observers. To ensure this time is constructive and welcoming to those participating and those present, the guidelines to the public for Minute with Council are,

Keep your discussion to no more than one minute in length;
Speak directly to the Chair of the meeting when addressing Council;
Refrain from asking questions of Council or Administration, as this is not intended to be a Q&A session; and
