Business 1. Council Meeting Schedule 2022-2023 Council approved the 2022-2023 Council Meeting Schedule presented as Option 1 - removing December 27, 2022, aligning with Council Procedure Bylaw #1153 providing two (2) Regular Council Meetings and two (2) Committee of the Whole Meetings per month and for no breaks during the summer months.
2. Councilor Board and Committee Appointments Council approved the 2022-2023 Councillor Boards and Committee Appointments as attached.
3. Public Members Appointed to Boards and Committees Council appointed Hendrik Smit, Hinton Municipal Library Board Chairperson, as Trustee to the Yellowhead Regional Library Board for a one-year term.

Citizens' Minute with Council Residents are welcome to speak to Council about issues, events, celebrations or concerns during Minute with Council. At the beginning of each regular Council Meeting, Mayor Michaels opens the floor to the public to speak and share with Council members, administration and meeting observers.

Public HearingBylaw No. 1174 - Boutin Lands Road Closure- There were no late written submissions relating to Bylaw No. 1174

Action Items
1. Hinton Community Sustainability Plan - MD-2662 Council rescinded the May 11, 2011, motion adopting the Hinton Community Sustainability Plan.
2. ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. Franchise Fee - MD-2701 Council instructed Administration to forward a letter to ATCO, and to commence necessary advertising through the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), proposing a 2.60% reduction to the ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. Franchise Fee (to 12.00%) collected in 2023 for the Town of Hinton.
3. The Financial Sustainability of the Town of Hinton's Current RCMP Service - Councillor Taylor Council directed Administration to seek further information on: - the RCMP staffing and service levels for the Town of Hinton vs. surrounding municipalities,
- impacts on reducing RCMP and how this compares to the Town of Hinton service levels, and
- information on the safe levels of policing in Hinton for the 5-15,000 population range, to come to a Committee of the Whole Meeting.

Council ReportingMayor Marcel Michaels: Thanked Councillor Haas for his time on the West Yellowhead Regional Waste Management Authority Board.
Councillor Ostashek: Nothing to report.
Councillor Maguhn: Not present.
Councillor Haas: Attended a West Yellowhead Regional Waste Management Authority meeting. Expressed congratulations to the Hinton Fire Rescue recruits who recently completed their 1001 Professional Firefighter Training.
Councillor Taylor: Attended a Forestry Resources Action Group meeting.
Councillor Race: Will be attending upcoming event: Hinton Historical Society Meeting on October 19.
Councillor LaBerge: Nothing to report.
