Citizens' Minute with Council

Residents are welcome to speak to Council about issues, events, celebrations or concerns during Minute with Council. At the beginning of each regular Council Meeting, Mayor Michaels opens the floor to the public to speak and share with Council members, administration and meeting observers.

Delegations

1. Collinge Road Sewer Flooding - Jace Rush
Mr. Rush spoke with regard to the sewer backup on Collinge Road and the installation of sewer line check valves to the affected homes.

1. Beaver Boardwalk Community Oversight Committee (BBOC) Appointment
Council appointed William Descalchuk as the Indigenous Representative to the Beaver Boardwalk Community Oversight Committee.

2. Land Acknowledgement Policy CL 1110
Council accepted the Draft Land Acknowledgement Policy CL-1110 as presented.

3. Appointment of Designated Officers - Bylaw No. 1139
In accordance with the Appointment of Designated Officer Bylaw # 1139, Council revoked the appointments of Ms. Carla Fox and Ms. Terri Williams to the Designated Officer position of Corporate Services Director. In accordance with Appointment of Designated Officer Bylaw # 1139, Council appointed Ms. Alicia Bourbeau to the Designated Officer position of Corporate Services Director.

4. 2023 Budget Process/Policy
Council accepted the Budget 2023 timeline and expectations report for information.

5. Intermunicipal Development Plan Bylaw Amendment No. 1133-1 - First Reading
Council gave the Intermunicipal Development Plan Bylaw No. 1133-1 First Reading, and scheduled a Public Hearing on October 4, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers to hear public comments on Bylaw No. 1133-1.

6. Financial Reporting - Closed per s.25(1)(c) of FOIP
Council approved the delivery of preliminary financial reporting on cost-shared programs to Yellowhead County.

Council accepted the Council Information Package for August 24, 2022.

CLOSED SESSION

1. Town of Hinton Service Level Review - Closed per s.19 of FOIP

Council accepted the Town of Hinton Service Level Review update presented by Administration as information and authorized the reallocation of $812,800 from the Town of Hinton's "Operating Reserves-Restricted Surplus" to the 2022 Operating Budget.

2. CAO Transitions - Closed per s.17 of FOIP
