Location change: From Darkness Comes Light
May 17, 2022
Please note the location of From Darkness Comes Light has been changed to the Hinton Centre, 965 Switzer Drive, due to the inclement weather forecast.
The community candlelight vigil takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18, at 6pm to recognize and support victims and survivors of crime.
From Darkness Comes Light has been organized by Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), together with Hinton Victim Support Services, as part of National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week (May 15-21).
The community is invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for chili and Bannock provided by the Old Grind, followed by words from Hinton RCMP and Deputy Mayor Trevor Haas. Guests will be given electronic candles to light for the vigil and moment of silence, and the evening will close with Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls by Sacred Winds to help raise and clear energies, and drummers from Hinton Friendship Centre. MC for the evening is Natascha Thoennes, executive director of Hinton Victim Support Services, and there will be a Memory Board onsite to post messages of remembrance and support.
