The Town of Hinton and the Hinton Mountain Bike Association have collaborated to create more recreation opportunities in the winter months for Hintonites!
This month marks the start of a pilot project to groom a select few trails this winter for multi-use. The groomer makes a very solid packed trail that is suitable for snowshoeing, skiing and of course fatbiking!
Trails recently groomed are the J, Halloween, Just Giver, as well as Cloe's to GS and the GS connector. The next scheduled grooming is around the perimeter of Maxwell Lake the evening of Friday, February 20th. Mark your calendars; there will be a public fat bike event at Maxwell Lake from 1 pm - 4 pm on Saturday, February 21.
"There are no concerns regarding damage to the trails by people-powered use," stated Christopher Read, Recreation and Culture Manager for the Town of Hinton. "We encourage residents to get outside and enjoy our trail system year-round."
Please note that the groomer has been approved for use on the trails by the Town of Hinton. No other motorized vehicles are allowed to be used on these trails, including quads or snowmobiles.
