We are delighted to share that the ice plant is back up and running at the Recreation Centre!
The issue was resolved last night at around 5pm, meaning user groups could go ahead with their programming.
At this time, all of today’s programming is expected to go ahead uninterrupted.

November 30, 2022:
A contractor is currently onsite at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre evaluating the mechanical issue within the ice plant.
Tonight’s ice programming in both the Steve Hotchkiss and Bill Thomson Arenas for 4 pm and 4:30 pm is now cancelled and affected user groups have been notified. Staff are awaiting hourly updates before any further cancellations are made. If the problem is not rectified by 5 pm, all programming will be cancelled for this evening, and the Recreation Office Services Coordinator will reach out to the affected user groups.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience as we work to rectify this problem as soon as possible.
November 29, 2022:
Due to a mechanical malfunction in the ice plant at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre, ice programming has been cancelled for tonight (November 29, 2022) in both the Steve Hotchkiss and Bill Thomson Arenas.
The Recreation Office Services Coordinator is reaching out to user groups to advise of the closure. In the coming days, the Town will assess the ability to reschedule or reimburse groups for these cancellations.
