Reminder to Town of Hinton Taxpayers
The due date for your Property Taxes is Thursday, June 30th, 2022.
To ensure you meet the June 30th deadline payments can be made through online banking, in person at your bank, by credit card on our website at www.hinton.ca/optionpay (processing fees apply), by E-Transfer (call 780-865-6016 for details), in person at the Town of Hinton Government Centre office, or dropped off after hours in the secure drop box located that the right side of the main entrance. Please ensure your stub portion of the notice accompanies your payment. Detailed information on payment options can be found on the back of your property assessment and tax notice or on our website at www.hinton.ca/taxes
Tax Notices were mailed to property owners on May 25, 2022.
If you are a property owner within the Town of Hinton and have not received your Property Assessment and Tax Notice, please contact the Tax Department at (780) 865-6017 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. As per the Municipal Government Act, all assessed persons are deemed to have received their Property Assessment and Tax Notice seven (7) days after it has been sent. Failure to receive a Tax Notice is not a valid reason for non-payment of taxes.
Penalties will be applied to unpaid balances as per Bylaw #1164. Penalties are applied on July 1st, August 1st, and January 1st of the following year.
