Controlled Burn in Area of Thomson Lake

The Town of Hinton has granted a permit for the below actions, and is sharing information through our channels for resident information.

The Town of Hinton has granted a permit for fire hazard reduction related activities in the area of Thompson Lake. This permit will see private contractors carry out controlled burns on private property in the area of Thompson Lake, starting tomorrow (February 27, 2019). The contractors are expected to remain on site for the duration of the burn.

All area residents and travelers are asked to observe signage, avoiding the area of the burns and obeying all posted notices.  Residents will see an increased amount of smoke in the area.
