Ventilation of Recreation Centre Complete following Routine Repairs
On the morning of January 9, 2018, repair work was being undertaken on the sprinkler system in the arenas at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre, requiring equipment powered by diesel combustion. This resulted in residual diesel exhaust fumes within the facility.
Over the course of the day, ventilation was undertaken and all impacted user groups were notified regarding service levels and reimbursement as necessary.
Overnight, further ventilation was undertaken.
Minimal residual odor was observed early this morning. Further impacts to scheduling are not anticipated.
