Winter Magic brings our community so many great events including live music, ice fishing, archery, Carnaval, Mom 2 Mom sale, and free recreation centre admission.
The Family Day long weekend starts with the 'Royal Wood' concert at the Guild. Hinton Performing Arts Society has offered us 2 great concerts during the festival, with the final one being Friday night. Tickets will be available at the door and doors open at 6:30 with the entertainment set to begin at 7:30pm.
Saturday kicks off in the recreation centre with the Mom 2 Mom sale in the foyer. Stop in and do a little bit of shopping. You never know what you will find. The sale happens from 10-3pm.
Head outside to Gregg Lake Boat Launch on Saturday from 10-4pm and try your hand at ice fishing. Tents and poles will be available for the rookies. Spend the day and enjoy a weiner roast and hot chocolate. All supplied the Hinton Fish & Game Association.
Sunday is a day full of opportunity. Head to the Nordic Centre for the annual Bonhomme Carnaval. The event runs from 12-4pm and there will be tonnes to do; including xcrounty skiing, tobogganing, music, maple sugaring, and so much more. It's time to immerse yourself in French Canadian culture and unique cuisine will be available. Please bring cash, as there is no ATM on site.
Head east to the Yellowhead Arrown Launchers indoor range between 1-4pm and try your hand at archery. Bows will be available or you can bring your own. Don't forget to head upstairs and see their amazing collection of taxidermied animals. Let's hope that is the closest you get to a Polar Bear.
Stop by the recreation centre on Monday from 1-4pm and swim, skate, climb, or run for FREE. Admission is sponsored by Coldwell Banker, a great local company that continues to support active living in our community.
