Local Disaster Plan

The Town of Hinton's Disaster Services Agency is responsible for planning for and responding to large-scale emergencies in Hinton requiring extraordinary coordination. The agency recommends that residents read and become familiar with the following:

• Four Steps to Prep Emergency Preparedness Brochure (PDF) - Includes Hinton's evacuation zones and pick-up points
• Town of Hinton Emergency Management Plan (PDF)

During an Emergency

In the event of a major emergency, please stay indoors. Do not leave your property unless specifically instructed to do so. Listen to the following for information:

• Emergency management personnel going door to door (identified with name badges)
• Local radio station (97.5 FM - The Eagle)
• Local Shaw TV (Channel 10)
• Police loud hailers

If you do not have your own form of transportation, please familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest emergency gathering spot by reading the emergency brochure (PDF).
