Thompson Lake Subdivision to be Site of Training Exercise June 14

Thompson Lake Subdivision to be Site of Training Exercise June 14

Please note that the previous release incorrectly identified the 14th as a Wednesday. The Scenario will take place on Thursday. The text has been updated to reflect this change.

From 10am to 3pm on Thursday June 14, 2018, Hinton Protective Services will be carrying out a mock evacuation scenario in the area of Thompson Lake.

Travelers in the area may see a large number of emergency vehicles on site. As well, area residents will be notified personally of the exercise by officials going door to door, in a manner similar to a real evacuation.

The Town of Hinton carries out numerous exercises, training sessions, and mock scenarios of the course of the year, often times alongside regional partners. These activities ensure that in the event of a real emergency, your protective services division is trained and ready.

You can keep your family prepared by ensuring you have a 72 hour kit   prepared, knowing local muster points, and having an emergency plan for you and your family. Learn more by downloading the 4steps2prep brochure, available here.
