  • Obed Lake Provincial Park: This park preserves 3 small lakes and the wetlands and upland areas that surround them. Camping is available from May 1 through November 20 at a cost of $10 per night. Call 780-865-2154 to make reservations.
  • Sundance Provincial Park: Home of the Emerson Lakes and Wild Sculpture Trail, Sundance Provincial Park features old-growth forest, spectacular sandstone cliffs, steep valleys, and a wetland complex. Camping is available from May 1 through September 30 at a cost of $10 per night. Call 780-865-2154 to make reservations.
  • William A. Switzer Provincial Park: Nestled in the Canadian foothills, William A. Switzer Provincial Park is located 20 kilometres north of Hinton on Highway 40. This park has plenty to offer including:
    • 5 lakes
    • Camping
    • Cross-country skiing
    • Fishing and ice fishing
    • Ice skating in the winter
    • Mountain biking
    • Swimming

Provincial Recreation Areas
  • Fairfax Lake Provincial Recreation Area: Fairfax Lake Provincial Recreation Area offers scenic vistas and camping from May 1 through September 30. Camping costs $10 per night. For more information, call 780-865-2154.
  • McLeod River Provincial Recreation Area: Campsite reservations are not accepted at this recreation area, though camping is available from May 1 through September 30 at a cost of $10 per night. Reservations will be accepted for group use facilities only. Call 780-865-2154 for additional information.
  • Wildhorse Lake Provincial Recreation Area: The Wildhorse Lake Provincial Recreation Area is located in the Rocky Mountain Natural Area and offers camping from May 1 through October 31 at a rate of $20 per night. No reservations are needed.
