National Parks
  • Located 25 kilometres west of Hinton on Highway 16, Jasper National Park of Canada is home to the Municipality of Jasper. The park is a year-round playground for outdoor adventure. Also located in Jasper National Park are the Miette Hot Springs located just 41 kilometres from Hinton. The Miette Hot Springs offer scenic views and optimum relaxation.
Wilderness Parks
  • Willmore Wilderness Park represents some of the last unexploited range of many wildlife species in Alberta. It offers great backpacking and hiking trails, horseback riding, hunting, and wildlife viewing opportunities. For more information, call 780-865-8394.

Wildland Parks
  • Brazeau Canyon Wildland Park: Brazeau Canyon Wildland Park straddles the Brazeau River canyon; it contains unique tufa springs and complexes of eskers with kettle lakes. For more information, call 780-723-8554.
  • Rock Lake - Solomon Creek Wildland Park: Rock Lake-Solomon Creek Wildland Park is located in front ranges of Rocky Mountains and offers back-country camping, cross-country skiing, fishing, horseback riding, and hunting. For more information, call 780-865-8394.
  • Whitehorse Wildland Park: Cadomin Cave and Cardinal Divide are located in Whitehorse Wildland Park. Please note that Cadomin Cave is closed each year from September 1 until April 30 to protect over-wintering bats. The park is operated by West Fraser Mills Limited and may be reached at 780-865-2154.
